Digital perm or texture perm: which suits your hair?

Two different kinds of movement

A digital perm uses heated rods to set defined, bouncy waves. It usually looks best when your hair is dry, and it can be styled with a diffuser or a little cream.

A texture perm is looser and more casual. It adds body and movement without a strong curl pattern, which makes it popular for hair that lies flat or has little volume.

Who each one suits

• Digital perm: good if you want visible, defined waves and don't mind a few minutes of styling.
• Texture perm: good if you want lift at the roots, softer movement and a lower-effort routine.
• Down perm: a third option if your goal is calmer sides rather than more volume.

How we decide with you

We check your hair's density, condition and any previous chemical treatments before recommending anything. Sometimes the perm you came in for is not the one that fits, and we will tell you why.
