What LAB means

LAB is a way of describing colour using three values: how light or dark it is, and where it sits between green and red and between blue and yellow. It is closer to how people actually see colour than simple names like "ash brown".

Colour should look like it grew that way.

Why undertone matters

‍

Skin has a warm, cool or neutral undertone. When a hair colour shares that undertone it looks natural. When it clashes, the skin can look sallow or tired even if the colour itself is beautiful.

• Warm: golden, peachy or olive undertones.
• Cool: pink or blue-leaning undertones.
• Neutral: a mix of both.
